I am sure a Super Bowl winning coach does not have a clue about the worthiness of players. Who does he think he is?
I'm sure we know so much more
Just remember Eli Manning was not worth a damn his first few seasons and now look.
Another quality player from the SEC.......

I think Tony Dungy is a great coach and admire what he's done for many athletes out there who need guidance. That being said, Tim Tebow will not excel in the NFL and will not be a #1 pick. Tebow is a great college quarterback, possibly the greatest ever, and he will be remembered as such. Don't get me wrong...he will get a shot in the NFL, but half of those plays he can pull off now, won't work against an NFL defense.

Well if you look at the national championships that Tebow has won. He's done pretty good. Then with Sam Brafford, he's had the shoulder injury. As a coach that shoulder injury would concern me. If the quarterback is already showing he is injury prone he may be of little use by the time he is trained well enough to be a good NFL quarterback.
Tebow would be one of the top ones. I gues I'd want to see how he performs at the NFL combine before saying he's the # 1 draft pick though.
I'd trust Bill Polian's assessment over Tony Dungy's though.

Dungy is a great coach, but he is WAY off here.
Tebow is nothing more than a second or third round pick at best. Tebow is not an NFL quarterback.
Source(s): Devil, just because he won championships in college doesn't mean squat. The way he is utilized at Florida doesn't translate well into the NFL because the players in the NFL are bigger, faster, stronger than the guys he faces now. If he were to try and run the ball like he does now in the pros, he'd make it about a quarter or two before getting hurt. Tebow is listed at 215, that's pretty light going up against guys on the D line that average about 285-300 pounds, not to mention linebackers. So, late second or third round pick, nothing more - How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.

It would all depend on what underclassmen declare for the draft. Locker is a junior. If he did declare I think he might be the best qb in the pros and I would draft him #1. He has all the tools to be a great NFL qb. If he doesn't I think Sam Bradford or Javon Sneed will be #1 and #2. Then I see McCoy 3rd and LeFevour 4th. I don't see Tebow taken until the 2nd round.

I disagree. Tim Teblow is a system QB, just like Graham Harrell was with Texas Tech. He's a good leader, and should probably be utilized at Fullback, because he just doesn't have that accuracy that is looked for in QB's. He doesn't even have that strong of an arm. It is stronger than Graham, but I don't think he'll work very well. He looks for the run too many times, and in the end, I think he thinks of himself too much than his teammates. I'd take my chances on Sam or Colt.

I am a huge Dungy fan. he was the Best def cord the vikings had in a long time. but I disagree with him on this one. Tebow may be the nicest guy in the draft, but I do not have him in my top 30.
Dungy is a Def guy 1st, and left his drafts to other people.

I don't agree with him, Tebow is a great athlete in a great system & is a great college QB. I think he's average in the pro's unless he goes to a team that is already established. If he's the number one pick & goes to Cleveland, St. Louis, Tampa or one of those real bad teams he won't be any better than what those teams currently have!!!

Fortunately, he's not the coach anymore and Colts fans don't have to worry about him taking Tebow with the 1st round pick.
