Using only your players?

If you could only use your team's players (or the players in their farm system) what moves would you make to make your team better for 2010, or would you keep it the same??

Remember..you can't trade or sign free agents because that would be using other players, you can only drop people, take people out of the lineup, bring people up...etc.

As a Giants fan, I would make the rotation (in this order) Lincecum, Cain (I think having Cain as number two would give the Giants an advantage), Sanchez, Zito, Bumgardner. Would bring up Posey.

Move Sandoval to first and bring up Rollinger to play 3rd.

Drop Lews, play Shierholtz full time

what moves would you make?

    Yankees:

Release Matsui with much thanks and apologies. There's no room for him next year, but it'll be sad to see him go.

Move Posada to DH, platooning at catcher.

Bring in Francisco Cervelli and Jesus Monetro, letting them compete for the starting catcher job as they start to get more starts. To begin the season, Posada would get a good number of starts. By the end, he would probably DH most of the time.

Make Swisher a utility player and bring Austin Jackson up.

We'd have Nady and Damon as the veterans in the outfield with Jackson, Gardner, and Melky as the young guys. Let them compete for the spots of 3 starters and a 4th outfielder. In reality, I'd try to bring in Haladay or Crawford and get rid of Damon unless Damon is willing to accept a 1-2 year contract. He's earned more, but there isn't really room on the team for him for much longer. I think he'll do better elsewhere.

Starting rotation would be Sabathia, Burnett, and then a competition between Wang, Pettitte, Hughes, Kennedy, Mitre, and Gaudin for the remaining 3 spots. They are all question marks with potential that is anywhere from good to Cy Young. Between those 6, you can get very good guys at numbers 3, 4, and 5. I don't know which ones, that'll be sorted out in spring training.

Joba would be the 8th inning set up guy for Mo of course.

    for the Giants

    Rotation:

    1. Lincecum

    2. Cain

    3. Zito

    4. Sanchez

    5. Bumgarner

Make Velez left fielder and Schierholtz right fielder, and have Lewis/Bowker be the backup outfielders. Rohlinger hasnt made an impact in the ABs hes been given, so I say keep Sandoval at 3rd and Ishikawa/Bowker at first.

Also, bring up Posey of course.

I would move Swisher as a pinch hitter and bring up Austin Jackson for Center Field and move Melky to left field. I would also have Ian Kennedy take over the 5th spot and Phil Hughes switch with Joba.
