Washing machine help PLEASE!!?

I have a Maytag Stackable model LSG7806AAE that recently just stopped letting in water without warning. It didn't slow down... just stopped working. It still works in the spin cycle and I hear the timer ticking... but when I pull the knob to start the washing nothing happens. Rinse cycle either. I don't hear the ticking in the wash or rinse cycle either. I replaced the water inlet valve and that didn't work. I have power and the water lines are good. PLEASE I need some help.

Also... would the timer switch cause this?

I need real, knowledgible answers PLEASE, I'm out of work and I don't have alot of money.

Thank you very much!!!!

Sometimes maytag has a water temperature sensing circuit board that could go bad and keep water from coming in, but I'd have to see the schematics to tell, so it may not be the timer.

Check your water connection in the back of the washer.
