O-C&G Poll: How many of you have heard of Hmongs?

I am ashamed to say, I didn't know of them until seeing Grand Torino. However, what else does that tell us about our history lessons. Shouldn't they teach us about the Hmong in history when studying the Vietnam war since they did aid us. I imagine it is being buried from youth so that the American youth don't find out how bad we screw people over sometimes.

I know Hmong people very well they were mostly from the mountain areas of Laos they are one of the tribe in Laos just like U.S have Native Indians, but there's also Hmong people in Thailand and some other countries from Asia some people called Hmong people mountaineers. I know a Hmong lady who is not mixed with Caucasian but she has blonde hair and blue eyes which is rare but most of Hmong people are similar to Chinese.

Yes, alive during the Vietnam war.....heard of the Hmong They aided the US and then were screwed by the US after the N.Vietnamese took over Saigon.

I have, but I don't know a lot about them. I think they're a group of people who live around Vietnam. Traditionally they respect their elders and have very interesting native dress that I would say looks similar to Thai or Nepolese dress, but only a bit. I didn't know that they could have blonde hair or blue eyes. I always thought that they just looked asian.
