have a shop or dealership perform an inspection on it.
They will check out everything to see if it works.

Test every switch, gadget, light, do a compression test, check oil level & color, tranny fluid, test brakes, look for rust, crank the speakers make sure they aren't blown, check tire pressure, just a few basic checks.
