Washing machine help PLEASE!!?

I have a Maytag Stackable model LSG7806AAE that recently just stopped letting in water without warning. It didn't slow down... just stopped working. It still works in the spin cycle and I hear the timer ticking... but when I pull the knob to start the washing nothing happens. Rinse cycle either. I don't hear the ticking in the wash or rinse cycle either. I replaced the water inlet valve and that didn't work. I have power and the water lines are good. PLEASE I need some help.

Also... would the timer switch cause this?

I need real, knowledgible answers PLEASE, I'm out of work and I don't have alot of money.

Thank you very much!!!!

PS. you might see this question a couple more times... I just want to get some good input by some people who don't log in everyday. Thanks!

This might seem like a stupid question, but did you check and make sure someone didn't turn the water valve off on you? Assuming the water is on, it's likely the valve that opens when you pull the switch isn't opening, this can be a mechanical issue, or an electronic issue. Also, pull the hoses off and see if there is a filtering screen on the back where the hose attaches, check and make sure no debris have floated in there.

I'm not a real expert but this could be the pressure switch. This switch lets in water until pressure from the weight of water reaches a certain level then shuts it off. If it is bad no water comes in. Our area has a fix it store and you go in and ask questions and they help you try to find

the bad part..they sell you the part. Check the pressure switch wit a volt meter.

    good luck......

there are 3 wires that run from the timer to the water level switch and plugs in to it. if it,s unplugged then it won,t make a sound. check to make sure it,s still plugged in.
