Is Windows Millenium better than WIN-98 SE ?

Windows ME is more secure than Win98 . But it is not as stable . I tried both and ,even though win ME was a little easier to use , sometimes it kept " hanging up " . Win 98 has that problem too , but it is less frequent compared to ME . IMO , you better go for win 98 .

And I am glad to see someone trying to use their PCs for so long . Dont upgrade just because others compel you to . Upgrade only if necessary .

I have used windows 98 and windows me several times, but win me is not stable really. I installed me several times for some change but it halts so much that finally I need to switch back to windows 98.

Ya it has some features and little more secure than win 98 but stability is a major issue in which ME fails.

If you don't want heavy xp, then win 2000 is a better option. It is almost as stable as win xp, not so big, have security of NT and have support for usb card. So in my opinion if you don't want it to be xp then 2000 is a lot better option in comparison to ME

go to www.xubuntu.com and read about it .. its FREE secure and fast linux distribution. better than windows ME or windows 98 .. or even windows XP .. no viruses no DLL hell no blue screens its LINUX.
