I think the man should do those things but if she wants to that is fine too- just if she cannot then don't BS it, there is no shame in not being able to do it. Men on the other hand are fully capable of washing dishes- now separating the laundry might be harder for some of them.

Me, I was raised (as was my brother) to be able to do everything. We can literally build you a house, do the electrical, plumbing, roofing etc, cook dinner, wash dishes, do laundry, I can knit and crochet, sew, rebuild an engine, do brakes, change the oil, shoot, drive, romance, get rough, really honestly we are well rounded.

I should know how to change the oil in my car, but I don't. I've never had to mow the lawn, because we've always hired someone. I HAVE however, fixed the garbage disposal. Twice.

I think if the "real women" would have kept their mouths shut 50 years ago then I could be home, barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen raising my kids and actually cooking for my family.....instead I work 40+ hours a week becuase these days we can NOT live on one income. My kids go to grandma's 3 days a week and daycare 2 days per week and most of what we have for dinner comes from the freezer section......woman just had to have everything equal! Look at us now.........

A 'Real Woman" only change one type of oil.....that's her man's oil! As far as the lawn, pluming and a man washing dishes...if you change his oil regularly by being a freak in the sheets; he'll buy a dishwasher and make sure everything else is taken care of! ;)

Ok here it goes, I'm gonna get thumbs down I know. Our life:

ME-works full time as firefighter, cleans house(super small), dishes,shops,drives,a few oil changes,some fire wood, little of gardening(big garden for food)

Him: no work, all cooking, alcoholic,dog daddy full time,dishes,cleans a bit,laundry,most oil changes,most fire wood, lots of gardening(big garden for food)

It is an odd set up but it works for us. I HATE cooking and he is great at it...he HATES a 9-5 job, whatever I'm good at that. He works side jobs and brings in some money too.

I don't like where this is going. You and Jayjay are trying to reverse the traditional sex roles in the kitchen and now the garage. I can live with that, but where does it end.
