Is it correct to run a dependent T-Test on this data set?

I'm thinking about asking a teacher to use a new teaching technique. I wanted to capture pretest and post test data giving the same exam twice and run a Dependent T-Test to see if the treatment had any effect. What I don't know is if running a dependent T-Test on exam scores is good statistics or not. On the surface, exam scores seem to be at the interval level...however they seem more like ordinal data to me...which means no T-Test. Any opinions?

if you have test scores say ranging from 1 to 100, for example, i'd treat them as interval data. if it were me.

    cheers.
