How long does the swine flu vaccination last? ...?
Is it like the kid's vaccinations we get and lasts 'forever' like measles, rubella, chicken pox, etc., or is it recommended to get it every year, like the regular flu shot, if one does?

It's no longer called swine flu. It's novel H1N1 flu. It's a flu vaccine and flu vaccines are effective for one year.

It's like the regular flu shot. If they would have had more time, they would have combined it with the regular flu shot for this season. Next year it will more than likely be combined.

The immunity it gives to this particular strain of virus- maybe 20 years. However flu virus change their antigenic determinants in a year so by next year your immune system might not recognise an evolved version of this virus
