Have your friend contact a car dealer that sells that model vehicle, like an Accord is sold by Honda. Provide the VIN number of the vehicle, registration and proof of ownership and they will be able to track down the key code and give your friend a new key.

Go to the car dealer for whatever make of car it is (ford, chevy, chrysler etc..) and show proof of ownership, title or registration and he license for ID and they can make new keys.
If you know the keys are in the car, sometimes the police will do a lockout if you sign a waver in case they damage the car.

well you could pretty much call a locksmith and explain to them your situation and maybe they would have some pitty. or you could take your vin number to the dealer tomorrow and have them make you a key

you could bust the window out and pay for a new one when she has the money or use a clothes hanger
