I know an elderly man that is having a hard time with his new teeth and decided not to wear them, He eats everything that we do.

Not quite sure how he processes the food in his mouth ? but he eats.

Having worked in nursing homes as a cook for years, I have see toothless elderly people eat... SOUP!

They can eat just about anything we all eat , it just has to be processed different. Meat in soups need to go to the chopper before adding back to the soup. Instead of fried potato, mashed potato. Cream of wheat, oat meal, chopped greens like spinach, baked potato's,stuffed tomatoes with ground beef and rice , spiced with finely chopped herbs and onions. Ok , forget the steak, but all precooked meats can be creamed in a blender. Just think baby food, about the same process.Grated cheeses, finely chopped fruits and grated carrot salads. Shaved lettuce, grated tomato, Chinese food, which is finely chopped like pepper steak, endless ideas , just more work.

I don't hang around elderlies, but I do know that the gentleman who invented the blender invented it for his wife, since she couldn't eat solid food.

I'd try fish like flounder, rice, and soft-fleshed fruit like papaya.
