Does anyone think Michael Steele is looking good right now?

Is it just my Liberal Bias, or is he sounding kind of silly.

"Nancy Pelosi and her liberal lieutenants made a lot of promises today to get the votes they desperately needed," he said. "Make no mistake -- the Democrat leadership's assurances were based on political expediency, not principle. Anyone receiving a promise from Pelosi is guaranteed to be disappointed in the end when their votes are no longer needed."

He could have shortened that to:

"Some politics happened. I'm still irrelevant."

I just can't help but wonder how many back door deals she had to make to get the votes she needed.

"Gone is the era of earmarks", says Obama, with Pelosi standing behind him clapping and nodding her head, yes.

Makes one wonder why only 10% of the stimulus has been used so far. Maybe as a reserve for said earmarks?

All I can say is Pelosi, Reid and Obama better tread very lightly on this issue. So far, they aren't showing that they can do that. Given that fact, the only reason they're pushing for this so fast is they know that come this time next year, they very well could lose their majorities in both houses. So Steele says this was "based on political expediency rather than principle?" Going by these polls, some prominent ones that the Democrats are obviously ignoring, he's probably not too far off base. "Anyone receiving a promise from Pelosi is guaranteed to be disappointed in the end when their votes are no longer needed."

Yeah, I can see her playing that way. She's shown no other examples of being trustworthy.

Almost all of the polls show that while a majority of Americans are in favor of "some type" of reform, including me, most are not feeling very confident about the Liberal Democrats plan. The largest concern being cost control. Most believe this will increase costs and lower standards of care. The exact opposite that the Democrats say this thing will do.

If this gets passed through the Senate and hits Obama's desk, it's a sure fire hit he'll sign it. He'll sign anything that Pelosi tells him to. Regardless of whats in it. Only time will tell my friend. But my guess is that the American people are dead on on this one. It will increase costs and lower standards of care. Just like with Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid. They all started with good intentions, even though many opposed those as well, citing the fact that long term, these programs were full of political loop holes and were also unsustainable.

    Sound familiar?
