1979 el camino wheel qeustion?
rear wheels how wide can i go with out tubbing? will a distributor that peaks 65000 be good enough for my 305.
i want to know if i can go with an 18x9 rear wheel,has any body out there tried it?
to install shorty headers do i need to lift the engine? it's a 305 in my 1979 el camino.

The best way is to just messure from the fender to the frame for the tires.
As far as the distributor goes. I would think If your cam was close to that you should be good to go.

stock HEI distributor is all you need and is at least 60000 volts
dont need anything else.
wheel width is a tough one because also backspacing affects everything
try not to go very wide with the wheels
and try not to go with alot of backspacing
around 3-4" backspacing would be the best to have
for 8" or less wide wheel
no need for any wider wheel than this
stock were 6 and 6.5" wide

yea but I wouldn't rev that 305 anywhere near the peak.
bf goodrich radio ta 255 r 60 will work.
