Are hairy nuts safe or not?

Hi I have this bucket of walnuts in my garage and they are hairy! Are they safe to eat? Whats the worst that would happen? I need a lot of opinions so don't be afraid to answer.

What are side effects?

Will it cause cancer?

Will they taste good?

ETC.
