What will the Yankees buy now?

Should the Yankees re-sign Damon AND Matsui. Or just Damon cuz there is no problems with his legs, and he contributes to the great club-house chemistry.

If the Yankees, do not resign Matsui they have to get a new number 5 hitter to replace him. Matt Holliday? nope no place to put him! Outfield is crowded, especially with Nady coming back, and Nady is nowhere near productive as Matsui ever was and his health is a big question. Unless the Yankees DH Damon, and Holliday, splitting their time in LF, then maybe a revolving DH door can also be worked out with the other stars. So trade Nady for a reliever.

Will the yanks rely on Chien-Ming Wang? Or sign another quality starter? Like John Lackey, i dont think he would fit in, but he is a great competitor. Or get a questionable Rich Harden, or a Low-risk High Reward Mark Prior. Or should the throw Aroldis Chapman to the sharks by outbidding everyone?

Yanks just need one more starter to keep the rotation good. cuz on injury next year to Sabathia or Burnett and instantly its a crisis without another quality starter.

Update:

oops i forgot Nady was a free agent

Nady is a free agent. If the Yankees sign him, it'll be to play with the Yankees.

There's no place to put Matsui. The Yankees could use one established outfielder. If it's an older player like Damon, the Yankees will not offer anything long term. Damon may or may not take a 1-2 year deal.

If they don't get Damon, they might go for Holliday or try to trade for Crawford or someone or resign Nady, but they'll probably offer Damon a chance to stay with the team first. They have a lot of young talent that's expected to start in the outfield in the next few years.

If Pettitte comes back, the Yankees don't really need more pitching. Between Pettitte, Wang, Hughes, Kennedy, and Mitre, they should be able to put together a solid back of the rotation behind CC and AJ. Wang is a top starter if healthy, so we'll see.

They might go for Lackey, since Andy doesn't usually decide until late and they can't rely on that.
