  • What other Yankee fans want to see C.C. walk?

I have many reasons to say he should walk.

He is overrated. He pitches to a 3.00 ERA each year and gets all his wins due to the great run support the Yankees can give a pitcher. Yes he can eat up some innings but he is not truly an overpowering hurler that has the stuff to win big games. He is now in his 30's, his arm has to be tiring from the 230+ IP each year and he gained ALL his weight back. It was obvious his weight gain became an issue.

On another team he would have stats like this 15-13 3.25 Era. Yes a big mix of wins and losses because many teams don't have the offensive numbers to save a pitcher if he gives up 4+ runs a game and still get him a W.

Now, another thing, he is blocking youth. I saw Phil Hughes reach 94-96 again this post-season. He attacks hitters and is fearless and is still only 25. He still has tremendous upside. Nova, what can I say? When he is on, he has the shades of a young Greg Maddux. Then there is Bentances and Banuelos, a duo that could turn into an amazing 1-2 punch. And there is some pitchers this off-season and the next that prove to be a lot better than Sabathia really is, especially if the Yankees want to go young they should look at allowing him to walk to get someone like Darvish this off-season or someone in the likes of Matt Cain next year. Cain and Lincecum would definitely be on the trade block if the Giants suffer next year.

  • Question for Yankees fans only! Rebuilding?

We want pitching, correct? We certainly have hitting, even though it was non-existent.

Well, why not Roy Oswalt? He is 34. He would fit for a short term contract and fill in with the exit of AJ Burnett after next year.

Think about it. A.J. is gone that marks the entrance and now ready Dellin Betances. After Roy's short contract is done, Manny Banuelos will be ready. And if CC opts out...let him. Let him sign elsewhere and the type A free agent signing draft picks we get will make up for signing Oswalt.

Just have to trim n prune Nova. He has shades of Greg Maddux when he has his A-game going.

Who agrees? It is an easy short term method to bringing in the youth.

  • Victor Martinez to Yankees in 2011? Strategic move?

Think about this. Posada is on the brink of retirement. He will play next year...but what about beyond that? In order to keep Posada's bat in the lineup as BOTH DH and C, they Yankees should get V-Mart. Think about it like this, they can split DH and cathing duties. It can keep both of their legs fresh, and keep their bats in the lineup daily. Plus it would be a tremendous move. Chemisty wise, the Yankees have C.C. Sabathia, and lets say they do get Cliff Lee whom will be their #1 target. He used to catch them both back in Cleveland. Then there is the factor he hits extremely well in Yankee stadium. Last, there is Jesus Montero. He will be on the bench next year, and incase either of them go down, there is our backup. Once Posada retires, Jesus and V-Mart can continue the DH catching platoon.

After all that said, should the Yankees pick him up? Why or why not? I think its a better move than them dishing to Crawford. The Yankees are the Yankees, and they probably will dish to Crawford JUST to have him. But with Crawford it creates lineup problems and his OBP is around .350 every year. Victor, works the count and looking at his stats he is around .370-.390 OBP with power, average, low strikeout totals, and a switch hitter. He is perfect for the lineup.

What are your thoughts on the postseason moves to come. Please be respectful. I ask this question now because the Yankees do face elimination.

  • Most epic death metal song(s) you've ever heard.?

    Title explains for itself.

Just one thing, many people can be indecisive so it can be 1 song or 100 songs, but whats the most epic one (or few) you've heard.

P.S. To make things interesting, it doesn't have to be just death metal. It has to be metal, but of any metal genre, such as symphonic power metal, thrash metal, or even good ol' plain metal.

  • Did Whitechapel (metal band) release any EP's?

I'm curious. I'm such a huge fan and I want to find any EP's they did.

  • Death Metal, Deathcore, Grindcore bands to listen to, help.?

Okay, every so often I like to search for new bands to listen to. I'm sort of in the mood for stuff thats similar to Whitechapel's debut album "The Somatic Defilement." So as you already can see I'm a fan of Whitechapel, so cross that one off the list. Just with recent girl problems and life problems I want something I can get aggression out with. So please if there are any good albums or bands similar as too I described it would be a great help.

  • yankees: whos more excited for 2011 than this year?

I hate granderson, I'm pissed neither Matsui or Damon came back. So I'm just bitter over 2010, which means I'm more excited for 2011 which looks great for the Yankees and Red Sox rivalry. Also for other teams! Tons of huge free agents. But I'm just looking for the yankees 2011 additions, cuz I could careless for 2010, it's not the awesome 09 team.

I'm thinking Adam Dunn, who truthfully I'd love to see hit in Yankee stadium, he walks alot and hits home runs. The cons strikeouts, no speed. But he'd look good hitting behind A-Rod.

Then with the Rays budget cuts, I say Crawford is gonna be either the new leadoff or #2 hitter. Yanks are suffering in the speed dept. Yes they have granderson, but he dosent steal often, isn't smart on the basepaths, and truly is not super speedy. So the yanks would benefit from Crawford, especially if they add Dunn. Pitching is pretty much set. I don't see Cliff Lee or Beckett coming.

    I'd say

    1. LHP Sabathia

    2. RHP Burnett

    3. LHP Pettitte (just one more year)

    4. RHP Vazquez (again)

    5. RHP Hughes ( Joba to the bullpen!)

  • Whats a powerful and elegant last name to go with a first name of Jace.?

Preferably Italian. But anything will go as long as it has a nice ring to it. Like Chandler Lockhart. The reason for all this is for a series i plan on creating.

  • does mana-burn also affect non-basic lands?

Its something i could never figure out. Especially Darksteel Citadel since it is indestructable

and to get it over with, i will ask another question, do these non basic lands with the ability

" 'tap': add 1 (colorless) mana to your mana pool"

does it act as 1 basic land for that turn, or does it help pile up mana to your mana pool?

Sorry, ive been playing casually for years now, i just now decided i want to get serious about this game so i need to know the rules perfectly.

  • another question on Chien-Ming Wang?

I do think he deserves a spot on a major league roster. Players can battle back from injuries. Uhm does anyone remember that Chris Carpenter was hampered for 2 years as well with injuries and look at the year he had. Then Pavano has finally proved that its possible to stay healthy.

What are your thoughts on Wang.

Type of contract he will get,

    What team will get him,

And does he belong in the bullpen to start, or can he be slotted right into the bottom of the rotation?

  • if the Yankees want to beat Boston (since the top pitching is gone) should they sign a top hitter.?

Should they try and trade for a good starter, they will have to go to 2004-2006 form and try and outhit the other team. They have arguably one of the best 1-2 combos at the top of the rotation (Sabathia - Burnett) and then the crafty vet Pettitte. Should they stop pursing the aging Damon and go after Holliday now that the pitching on the market is gone. I think Holliday would contribute nicely, even though he is a righty hitter, his swing type would make good for the deep left center at Yankee Stadium.

Or should the yanks just scrounge up a whole load of B (and i mean by load as a few) pitchers off the market. I think they HAVE to get Chapman now (prepare him in the minors for one year) and i think their are some decent righty's on the market. If im not mistaken i do believe Jason Marquis is out there, he is a groundball pitcher so he would win pretty well at Yankee Stadium. Anyway, all opinions are open.

  • The Granderson deal...could it be a form of preparation?

What i mean is, with Granderson slotted now. The Yankees still high suitors for Holliday and Bay. Now Lets say the Yankees sign Holliday or Bay, where would Melkey and Gardner fit? In a package for Halladay....right? and all they gotta do is choose between Joba or Hughes, or maybe a bunch of prospects from the minors like Brackman, Kei Igawa, Melancon, Aceves. Plenty to choose from. and then the revolving DH door will be opened up....more likely suited for Damon, but possibly Matsui cuz with a crowded outfield a full time DH will be needed.

This is how i predict the 2010 Yankees to look like.

    SS: Derek Jeter B:R

    CF: Curtis Granderson B:L

    1B: Mark Teixeira B:S

    3B: Alex Rodriguez B:R

    LF: Matt Holliday B:R

    DH: Hideki Matsui B:L

    C: Jorge Posada B:S

    2B: Robinson Cano B:L

    RF: Nick Swisher B:S

looks pretty strikeout happy if u ask me.... on a side note, for chemistry reasons i prefer the yankees to try and hold onto Melkey for Robinson Canos sake, they are best friends, and Melkey will absolutley get his at bats in, and who knows when one guy goes down, there is Melkey to fit in.

The Rotation after a potential Halladay trade.

    LHP: C.C. Sabathia

    RHP: Roy Halladay

    RHP: A.J Burnett

    LHP: Andy Pettitte

RHP: ? maybe a platoon or a B free agent signing.

The bullpen has to many questions for me to post but there is one guy im deffinitly sure of that will be there and that is....Mariano Rivera!!

  • dog problems, help needed A.S.A.P.?

Story is my dog got left outside in Rhode Island weather (12/4/09- 7am 12/5/00), NOONE! told me oh let the dog in shes outside, everyone that left the house or came home during the day saw her outside didnt mention anything. I didnt even let her outside damnit! now my poor dog is paying the price, she is 12 years old with arthritis in her left-hind leg. She has puked up the tiny bit of food and water i have given her. The good sign is she wants to eat/drink, but it wont stay down. Did her stomach flip?? Another thing too is she cant get up, i have had to carry her and ley her down myself, could it be from her arthritis and slowly ailing hips?? I have been laying next to her giving her body heat and 110% attention since 7 a.m., is there anything else i can do because we cant afford a vet bill, the offices are also closed on the weekends, and the pet hospital charges double on the weekends...if worse comes to worse i have chosen some expensive items to sell in order to afford the vet bill.

  • Make your fantasy Death Metal band lineup?

For death metal fans only! I DO NOT WANT any comments saying, death metal sucks, or thats emo music. Cuz 1 death metal requires the highest command of an instrument, and 2 death metal is far from emo!

Anyway heres an example of a lineup.

Nergal (from Behemoth) - Vocals, Rhythm guitar.

Jeff Loomis (from Nevermore) - Lead Guitar.

Dennis Bradley (from Beneath the Massacre) - Bass

Danny Herrera (from Napalm Death) - Drums

  • fun stuff...create your best (active player) lineup.?

Create a full out baseball team. The lineup, bench players, Starting Rotation, and Bullpen. The lineup dosent have to be power stacked upon power. I say that because the lineup has to be effective, for example a lineup full of just average hitters that pop out around 20 homeruns a season.

Here is an example. oh and salary cap of 180 million. i dont know if this team meets that cuz its only and example

    1. CF: Jacoby Ellsbury B:L

    2. 2B: Brian Roberts B:S

    3. RF: Nick Markakis B:L

    4. 1B: Albert Pujols B:R

    5. LF: Carlos Lee B:R

    6. DH: Milton Bradley B:L

    7. SS: Orlando Crabrera B:R

    8. 3B: Pedro Feliz B:R

    9. C: Jason Varitek B:S

    Starting Rotation

    1. C.C. Sabathia LHP

    2. Josh Beckett RHP

    3. John Lackey RHP

    4. Andy Pettitte LHP

    5. Yovani Gallardo RHP

    Bullpen

Long Relief/mop up: Mark Hendrickson LHP

    Lefty Specialist: Dennys Reyes LHP

    Middle Lefty: Darren Oliver LHP

    Middle Righty: Joel Zumaya RHP

7th inning man: Fernando Rodney RHP

    Set-up: Johnathan Broxton RHP

    Closer: Mariano Rivera RHP

    Bench

    C: Jose Molina

    MIF: Miguel Cairo

    COF/CIF: Eric Hinske

    OF: Joey Gathright

  • What will the Yankees buy now?

Should the Yankees re-sign Damon AND Matsui. Or just Damon cuz there is no problems with his legs, and he contributes to the great club-house chemistry.

If the Yankees, do not resign Matsui they have to get a new number 5 hitter to replace him. Matt Holliday? nope no place to put him! Outfield is crowded, especially with Nady coming back, and Nady is nowhere near productive as Matsui ever was and his health is a big question. Unless the Yankees DH Damon, and Holliday, splitting their time in LF, then maybe a revolving DH door can also be worked out with the other stars. So trade Nady for a reliever.

Will the yanks rely on Chien-Ming Wang? Or sign another quality starter? Like John Lackey, i dont think he would fit in, but he is a great competitor. Or get a questionable Rich Harden, or a Low-risk High Reward Mark Prior. Or should the throw Aroldis Chapman to the sharks by outbidding everyone?

Yanks just need one more starter to keep the rotation good. cuz on injury next year to Sabathia or Burnett and instantly its a crisis without another quality starter.

  • Who will the Yankees retool with this offseason to defend their title?

If the Red Sox dont pick up or add an extension to Josh Beckett whom is deffinetly itching to play with free-agency. Josh Beckett is a proven post-season performer, and now we know the key to win a championship is a team of PITCHERS who are built for the pressure, yes hitting is nice but we do have enough. But anyway, Beckett is an option, Cliff Lee is gonna be a free agent, Jon Lackey (don't like him though), there is the cuban defect who can be raised a couple years in the minors Aroldis Chapman. Or we can pick up a number 5 starter, plenty of bargains out there.

For resigns. Pettitte - deffinite, Damon - Very likely, Matsui -because of his knees not so likely.

Now for hitting, i want speed. and there is no combos of speed and average hitters besides Chone Figgins this off-season, and i dont like the style player he is, and there is no place to put him. Maybe the yanks sould grab Holliday or Bay...not much of a Jason Bay fan cuz he dosent hit for average and i love lefty hitters so maybe Holliday isnt the answer either. Mike Cameron pisses me off but his personality and fielding would be an upgrade from Melkey. Maybe just trade for a good decent lefty hitter how will pop around 20 homers.
