Did Jimmy Johnson's wreck look suspicious?

Why does Hornish jerk the wheel up and drive his car into the side of Johnson's? Hornish is never a factor in a race. If I were going to tighten the standings, I would have an 'also ran' like Hornish wreck the leader. You can't argue that a closer race is good for NASCAR.

Don't be surprised if you hear more about this later.

Update:

All good answers, thanks. I think I've been around the block too long to believe in pure luck. A tighter chase means more viewers and higher ad revenue.

Reutimann bumped Hornish making him loose control which caused him to bump Johnson.

Now after Johnson hits the outside wall, you'll see Johnson turn right into the back of Hornish(looks like Johnson ment to do that), which causes Hornish to crash.

Hornish was bumped by Reutimann which caused Hornish to get loose and slide into Johnson. Johnson was in the wrong place and Hornish couldn't save the car. This type of wreck occurs every race, it just happened to be the points leader this weekend.

Nothing suspicious about it. If you look at the replay you'll see that Hornish was tapped from behind by David Reutimann which caused his car to get loose and slide up the track. That caused him to get together with Johnson, who almost saved it, but in trying to right the car made contact with Hornish again which sent him down into the inside wall.

Yes, tighter races in general are awesome but did NASCAR pay off Hornish...NO. That won't happen because NASCAR is built upon safety and not wrecking and going out to wreck someone would be hypocritical. And there is something called luck or chance.

Well for one thing Sam hornish can't drive. He doesn't seem capable of driving a stock car. To me that is very obvious.... every week Sam wrecks, Can we all agree he just can't hndle a stock car?

Also David Reutimann did tap Sam and he probably didn't realize Jimmie was up there.

...It was obvious that Hornish was attempting to correct his car after being bumbumping into Johnson.

Racing deal not an intentional act.Johnson went high to avoid the bottleneck and the car of Hornish was overcorrected and went into Johnson.

No, but I saw Jimmie Johnson wreck his car during qualifying. Sorry, but I like it when people spell my name right. Jimmie does, too. : ) JJ's just doing what he did last year. Faking everyone off, so he can sneak in and win the championship.

Hornish got hit by Reutimann. Watch the video, it was a chain reaction.

Your right when you say that a close chase is good for Nascar. But there where two other cars involved in that. Which tells me it wasn't staged, just a racing thing!

Johnson still has a better chance of winning the championship than anyone else. Now, if he could just do the same next Sunday things would really be interesting going into the last race. One can only hope!

Not everything has to be explained with conspiracy theories! Nothing looked irregular about the crash. Jimmy, finally, for once was in the the wrong place at the wrong time during a chase race. Of course, Nascar and many fans were happy to see the points tightened up. But that doesn't mean it was all carefully crafted by Nascar masterminds.
