Sources are reporting that Steven Tyler has left Aerosmith. Your thoughts?
http://www.azcentral.com/ent/celeb/articles/2009/1...
Steven Tyler has reportedly quit Aerosmith.
The 61-year-old frontman is said to have walked out on the 'Crazy' rockers after a performance in Abu Dhabi last month and his bandmates have not heard from him since.
Guitarist Joe Perry told the Las Vegas Sun newspaper: "Steven quit as far as I can tell. I don't know anymore than you do about it. I got off the plane two nights ago. I saw online that Steven said that he was going to leave the band."
Perry claims Tyler - father of Hollywood actress Liv Tyler - has refused to take his phone calls to let the rest of the band know what's going on.
He said: "He has had no contact with me or the other band members. He's notorious for that, that's one thing I've learned to live with. I try to overlook it
"Obviously he hasn't been giving 100 per cent to this thing for a long time. He's obviously had this planned for a long time. To disregard his brothers to the point where we have to find out about it on the internet. I still care for him as a person, or at least the person I used to know. But things change."
Perry says the band - who were forced to cancel shows earlier this year after Tyler was taken to hospital after falling ill during one concert - are now looking for a replacement.
He said: "As far as replacing Steve... We'll probably find somebody else that will sing in those spots where we need a singer and then we'll be able to move the Aerosmith up a notch, move the vibe up a notch."

At this point, does it really matter? That would be like Jagger leaving the Stones or Daltrey leaving The Who back in the 90's. Uhhh... you've been irrelevant for YEARS anyway, dude! They should have hung it up after "Draw the Line" and the Live-Bootleg album. Everything they've done since then has just been a caricature of their REAL hey-day '73-'78. All of their late 80's and 90's crapola was pretty worthless and forgettable imho.
Pretty funny though how Perry is the one whining now, after leaving the band in the middle of recording "Night In The Ruts". I hear Chickenfoot needs someone to tune satch's guitars and clean up after the show. Maybe they will give Joe a big break.

Sources aren't saying that it's just you spreading pathetic rumors

Personally, I don't see why people can't just open their mouths and talk about stuff... but obviously, some can't.
I would hate to find out that I'd been "broken up with" via the tabloids or online.

He's using, isn't he? That would explain the erratic behavior.
Sad, but maybe it's time to hang up the guitars and give Aerosmith a rest..it was a good run.

Ouch.
No Tyler, no Aerosmith, despite what Perry says. It would be the Stones without Jagger.

Looks like it might be true
Rolling Stone is reporting it too

Tyler can do whatever he wants, but that sounds a sick way to treat the band
they deserve better

Interesting - thanks for the post. I think it's pretty lousy that he has been with the band for all these years, and won't even accept their phone calls or sit down and talk to them about what he's doing. They had to read it online. Seems a bit disrespectful to me. I can't imagine the band without Tyler, though.

Not that surprised considering his age, but I think he really should've shown a little more respect for his band, not to mention his fans, regardless of his personal or professional issues.

Damn...If they try to replace him,it's just gonna end up like Queen. No good,no good.
