What sort of good experiences did you have in the 50's and 60's?

My grandma tells me about the great things she remembers, and i'm curious if anyone has had the same or near the same experiences.

The 60s was the era of my childhood, and I had a very pleasant one on the whole. My mother was at home, so I didn't have to spend all day in daycare or anything. Children played outside more in those days, and I went out a lot riding my bike and rollerskating and climbing trees etc. People weren't a'lways fussing about this or that being dangerous, nobody wore safety helmets, and if you fell down and grazed your knee or something it was no big deal, nobody got sued.

My mother used to take me up to London shopping, and we would go to places like the Natural History Museum and the museum of London, and have tea on Derry and Toms roof garden, which was lovely.

There wasn't as much TV then as there is now (it actually used to close down for part of the day), and no electronic devices like computers, ipods, etc, but we listened to the radio and read books and comics (there were a lot more comics then) and played board games and made things etc.

I used to enjoy going to the cinema. They had continuous performances in those days, you could walk in any time you liked and leave when you liked. You could stay and see the film round twice if you wanted to. There were often two films, and sometimes a short documentary as well, a travelogue or something to do with history or something.
