84 f150 I6 4spd--i have a granny gear and want to be able to lower the rpm's at hwy. speeds.cheapest solution?

    Put in higher rear end gears. Remember the lower the number the higher the gear.

    BUY A REAR END WITH A HIGHER GEAR RATIO.

    I CAN BUY ONE HERE FOR AROUND $150.

    REPLACING YOUR LOW GEARED REAR END WITH A HIGHER ONE WILL MAKE YOUR TRUCK ACCELERATE A LITTLE SLOWER AND MAKE YOUR SPEEDOMETER READ WRONG. YOU WILL BE GOING FASTER THAN THE SPEEDO SAYS

    swap in a 5 spd.it might even be a fairly direct swap.
