Hard lump behind ear on skull?
I have had this lump for over 6 mths but it has just started to give me headaches, and I'm also getting dizzy sometimes when I'm sitting or laying down. The lump is rock hard and feels like its attached or is part of the bone. I have asked 2 Dr's who both said they don't know what it is, but it should go away, except it hasn't so I got a 3rd opinion today and she has sent me for an ultrasound on it tomorrow, unfortunately I cant have a CAT scan because I'm pregnant. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? The Dr today said she doesn't think its a swollen lymph node and that I should prepare for possible bad news. So now I'm scared it could be cancer. Any opinions would be gratefully received.

First of all kudos to you for not settling for a non answer from the first two doctors. I can't imagine the amount of anxiety that you must be feeling. Take heart in the fact that you have found a doctor who is taking you seriously and taking prudent measures to assess the problem. It is certainly as likely to be a benign problem as not. Now is a good time to take comfort from a friend, spouse or parent. Good luck.

It's not AIDS you dork "none"! Behind your ear is skull bone. If this lump does not move around when you move the flesh behind your ear around, then it is probably on your bone. Your doctors should have referred you to a specialist if they have no idea. Saying bad news without any idea what it might be is a bit premature and irresponsible. You need to find out what it is before you will know if it is bad news. Go to a hospital if you have no doctor in your town with any skill.
Headaches is not good and dizzy is worse. Ask your OB-GYN for an opinion and if one of those was already the opinion, go to the ER in a hospital. Don't get any xrays for your unborn baby. They can give you an MRI if they need to scan it. Do not get a CT scan because of the radiation.
Good luck princess. I will pray for you.
