If it had been important for everyone to know then it would have been recorded. It doesn't state what the mark was. But it hasn't stopped alot of people from speculating.
I'll speculate and say that the mark was something clearly visable. Perhaps a series of splattering of white skin on his natural reddish brown skin color. (reddish brown = adama = Hebrew word for red, and ground. Adam's body was made from the particles of the earth.)
I picked out white because of the scripture "Though your sins be scarlet they shall be white as snow." - Isaiah 1:18
That signified God's undeserved mercy mark upon him. So that none would kill him even in just vengeance for having murdered Abel.

That is not specified -
What is clear was that it was a mark anyone meeting him could see. Since the population all began with the core children, sons and daughters, of Adam and Eve - these would naturally be told about this as they grew up - thus when or if they met him, they would recognize him and probably avoid him - he and his family were quite violent of nature thought highly skilled in the working of metal.

The bible doesn't specify what that mark was or what it looked like, the only characteristics given are that other people would recognise that mark and not kill him.

doest say, all we know is it was on his forehead anything else is speculation or wishful thinking. that line was killed in the flood so they have nothing to do with today's people as we are all descendants of Noah's family.
