it's really hard to say without a pic...too many insects that fall into that description, especially this time of year. If they originating from the inside of the house first guess would be one of the pantry pest.. check the areas you store your dry foods to see if they are in such areas if so get rid of the sources the pests will be soon gone... if it is an outside pest getting in, check your window screens, if you have that may inside you will have many more on the outside trying to get in, if so better weather stripping, screening may be in order.

Dust mites are microscopic, NOT visible with the naked eye and are NOT bugs. They are Arachnids in the same group as the spiders, scorpions, ticks and have 8 legs, not 6. There are many things that allergists suggest to help reduce dust mite population and their feces in a home of a sensitive person. Covering bed with a plastic mattress pad and repacing pillows regularly help some. You can buy special pillow covers too. Even at WalMart. If a pillow is old, by volume it can be mostly dust mites. Removing carpets and replacing floor coverings with laminate or tile help too. Vacuuming daily with excellent hepa filter vacuum helps too. Air purifier technology is geting much better. There are some pricey ones that are awesome, maybe $700, but they work GREAT. People with serious respriation problems, it is very helpful.

To avoid a lot of research, I would call and ask a professional pest control specialist. They're pretty good at answering questions over the phone, especially if it's an independently owned local pest control company. The bigger companies want to come to your house and charge you a service fee just for looking.
Or, if you're renting, tell your landlord about it.

Putting soapy water in containers close to the lights could get some.
Fly strips would work.
