I tried to wean my daughter off alimentum at 3 months and again at 7 months, she had been on the alimentum since about 6 to 7 weeks old. Both times she got very ill. She was on alimentum until 12 months and now drinks Silk soy milk. She loves it and is doing great. I would wait until you are comfortable, you are his mommy and you have the mothers intuition.

My son was allergic to cows milk when he was born and i had him on Alimentum up until he was about 9 or months. I also got it through WIC then moved to Florida and they wouldn't give it to me. They gave me Nestle Good Start the package with the green hearts on it and my son is doing great. I dont suggest weaning with formula it will make your son gassy. My son is a great eater and will eat anything lol. If your doctor said he might be ready then you should try. If it doesn't work you can always go back to Alimentum. Good luck!
