Reserve Army during this time period?

If I were to join the reserve army for example the reserve marines or any other reserve branch is there a chanced that I'd be shipped off to war after training. I just wanted to know during the Iraq war would a reserve army branch be shipped off? Sorry if question is unclear.

The point of reserves is to be a soldier when you are needed to fight, and to be a civilian when you are not. We need soldiers to fight right now, so joining the reserves is just like going active duty. You'll get the chance to serve your country in a combat zone, yes. You don't need to worry about sitting at home, getting training and pay, but not actually doing what you signed up to do.

Yes it is possible. If the reserve unit is eligible for deployment you would go with them....or if your specific MOS is needed you could be pulled from that unit and put in another. That is what happened with me (although I had been in for 6 years already) I was pulled from a Chemical Unit and put in a Transportation unit because they needed someone with my MOS (25U Communication)
