Out of state jury summons?

I moved to a new state last July, but just received a jury summons from my former home state. I have tried calling and logging onto their website to show ineligibility but cant seem to find a 'no longer live there option' and every time I ask to speak with an operator, it hangs up on me!

It clearly states that to be eligible to I have to be a current resident of that county. Do I need to formally inform them of my new address? If so, how can I? I have tried every number and website on that summons!!! Help!

Update:

Every single number for the county clerk will transfers me to the same number with a recorded message "all available representatives are currently assisting other callers. We are not able to return your call. Please try your call again." and hangs up.

I have googled and googled and there isn't a single number that goes to a human being or even one relevant automated option.

there are specific reasons to not being able to be on jury duty. moving out of the state is one of those reasons. so keep calling them OR try to actually write a letter to the courthouse where you are suppose to report to and try through there.

Try calling the clerk of the court that sent the jury summons (Google them). They should at least be able to direct you to a live person that can help you.

I would also send a certified letter to the address on the summons stating that you don't live there anymore, along with proof of your new residence - say, a copy of your lease, etc.

Just keep calling them. You don't have to serve if you don't live in that state anymore. But some states will issue an arrest warrant if you fail to serve, so you need to keep trying to call them.

You will have to move back until the trial is over.
