Florida gun registration?

If I purchase a handgun from a retail store in Florida is that gun registered in my name? Or am I require to do something after I get the gun to register it? Does it have to be registered? I want a gun I can keep when the government decides to confiscate all firearms.

Oh, you're one of those delusional paranoids who has been brainwashed into thinking that Obama is going to confiscate everyone's guns by the NRA so that the gun dealers can make more money. Keep drinking that Kool Aid.

There is no federal gun registry. Federal Firearm Dealers will require you to fill out paperwork to conduct a background check. That is not registration. There is nowhere in Florida to register your gun either. Gun registration only exists in anti-gun states like California and in fictional Hollywood movies. If you bring your gun into the police station to register it they will mistake you for a madman and shoot you on site.
