Should laws be passed in order to prevent people from sinning and damning themselves to Hell?

If the wage of sin is eternal death, doesn't the end of saving more souls justify the means of forcing them to repent?

Religion should passed in order to prevent people from sinning, Government and Laws should keep people to follow the rules so they can all live a good life and in peace....

Christianity doesn't teach a lot, "believe in salvation and you go to heaven" and i see the government here putting all the rules to prevent people from sinning and they still do

There is no possible way to stop humans from sinning. We are ALL imperfect people who constantly sin, sometimes not even realizing it.

That being said, a law wouldn't/couldn't stop sin in any way. Just look at our current laws. People break the law by doing what it says NOT to do - that is sin. Breaking the law in general is sin.

I don't advocate passing laws to keep people from sinning and damning themselves to Hell because they will be able to do that no matter how many laws we have.

And, you can't force people to repent.

Jesus told Nicodemus, "You Must Be Born Again" to see the Kingdom of God.

But, the laws prevent the degradation of our society and the longer our society survives, the longer God will allow the lost to continue.

Sure, I'll go along with that. I'll start a religion where we worship a giant sweet potato and if YOU don't repent and follow MY rules then you'll go to jail.

Oh, I get it, you only want this if its your religion that's in charge.

    Sorry bucko, not gonna happen.

No. We have freedom of religion so I can believe what I want, and not have to live under the rules of beliefs I do not share. There is nothing I require saving from, so live your life the way you want and let me do the same. :)

Considering you have no proof your religion is right, that hell exists, or that sin exists this would simply be repressing people based on your opinion.

Should I be able to outlaw you from using a computer mouse because its against my religion?

Isn't that sort of what Sharia law is about? Or what the Taliban is trying to do?

Like a Christian version of Sharia law? No thanks. I don't even know how you'd pass a law about covetting. Especially since our economy is based on it. Maybe I'm biased, since I covet my neighbor's wife's ass.

Keep you argumentum ad baculum to yourself, inquisitor.

Repentance has to be a free choice to be meaningful.
