    (8x^4+12x^3-6x^2+20x) / 2x = 4x^3+6x^2-3x+10

    =x(4x^2+6x-3)+10

    8x^4+12x^3-6x^2+20x/2x

    4x^3+6x^2-3x+10

  • 1 decade ago

    (8x^4) / 2x=4x^3

    (12x^3) / 2x=6x^2

    (-6x^2) / 2x=-3x

    (20x) / 2x=10

    (8x^4+12x^3-6x^2+20x) / 2x=4x^3+6x^2-3x+10

since all the terms ontop are divisible by 2x, just divide each one separately.

    4x^3+6x^2-3x+10
