I removed vinyl wall paper from my entire living room and also a bedroom with just plain white vinegar. I got a paint tray and roller like you would use to paint and put the vinegar in that. I rolled it over the wall in sections at a time to get it good and wet and then start peeling. I had a paint brush that I would dip in the vinegar and as I was peeling just keep rubbing it along the stuck edge as you are pulling the paper off. It worked great. I bought a gallon jug and believe me, it is much cheaper then the paper removal products you buy. (Just doesn't have a very good smell). Good luck with it.

Try making deep scratches in the paper then soaking with water, when well soaked scrap with scraper.

Or buy or borrow a steam wall paper remover, these are very good especially when the paper has been painted over.

    Good luck

I would go to a rental center such as Home Depot and rent a Steamer.
