Where was the radar invented?

I need to know where the first radar was invented. i'm not talking about prototypes, i need a radar that most resembles the modern day ones we have now. thanks in advance.

    The first working radar was the Chain Home Radar on the east coast of the British Isles. The CHR was developed between 1935 and 1938, and went into service in the Battle of Britain. Large amounts of information are available on the internet.

    Fine-resolution radar--like today's--came from England just before WWII.
