For me it's not the specific side dish, it's the combination.
Turkey w/ stuffing, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce.
I can have any one of those alone throughout the year and they're fine. Put them together on a plate and it is Thanksgiving to me. I only eat them together on Thanksgiving. If I ate them together in July, it would feel like Thanksgiving to me.

I love Broccoli Rice and Cheese casserole!
It's really easy to make, too:
Can of condensed milk
Cream of Chicken or Mushroom soup
Stick of Butter
2 cups rice
One bag of frozen broccoli
Jar of Cheez Whiz
Soup can full of water.
Then you stick it in the oven on 350 degrees and stir every 15 minutes for up to an hour.
I'm getting hungry just thinking about it...Or maybe it's just lunch time!

A kind of Waldorf salad--but without marshmallows or mayo (we have vegans in the family). Grapes, apple chunks, raisins, celery, candied pecans or walnuts, baby lettuces, mandarine oranges, dried cranberries all tossed together in a mustard dressing or a poppyseed dressing--not sweet but good and we get our fruit that way.

At my grandparents on my mom's side, we always have mashed potatoes and noodles... no gravy, you put the noodles right on top of the mashed potatoes, its actually really good

Well I like to make deviled eggs, first you boil them and then you put mayonnaise then mustard.
