Now that Ft Hood shtr Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan may be paralyzed for life, do you still support the death penalty?
The Fort Hood shooter - At first, I said that I hope he gets the needle, or worse.
But, if he is paralyzed for the rest of his life, I think that is a more fitting punishment. To have to live with the fact that he is never going to walk again and the constant reminder of what he did and all those people he murdered.
What do you think.
I think people are missing the point. I am not saying he shouldn't be executed because he is paralyzed. I am saying, which is the harsher form of punishment? I tend toward keeping him alive over granting him a quick death.
Maybe because if I had the choice between the two I would choose the quick death.
But on the other hand, he may not feel any guilt at all. Only time will tell.
In a military court he has no chance of excaping the death penalty, so this is all academic.

What is worse dying? Or being in a 6x6 room for the rest of your life?
I say no death penalty lets go with the 6x6 room.
Also its to hypocritical to MURDER someone, when thats what they did... So F*** the death penalty.

On one hand, I'd like to see him suffer a slow and agonizing execution but, it might turn into a rallying cry from other Akhmed type people.
On the other hand, a quick death will leave many Americans upset that he was allowed the dignity of death by needle.
I think the best solution would be death by a one man firing squad with an M134

He won't be executed anyway. We KNOW he won't in the next 3+ years. The President has to sign off and you KNOW Obama won't. So even if he is given Capital Punishment as the final verdict, and I hope he is, he won't likely be executed. Personally I'd prefer him to be sentenced to execution to make a point. On the other hand I don't want him executed because I think he wanted to die as well. Had he got the chance I think he WOULD HAVE killed himself at the end of hte attack.

Oh, the poor, poor, man. He was so abused by the ignorant infidels who reject the finer beliefs of the prophet. Then when he tried to defend himself and the true belief, he was horribly maimed. (Sniff) it's almost too much to bear. I hope more senitive people, like Obama, will rescue him.
Oh, God, I'm about to retch again. I must rush to the bathroom. I shouldn't write this stuff.
PS: I study religions and I do respect Islam, but apologists for totally whacked-out nut jobs on killing tantrums, regardless of their beliefs, should be barfed upon. Yes, I know you aren't apologizing at all but some of his fellow Muslims probably think he's a hero.

this person killed 14 other people. most serial killers don't do much better that that.
why should he be allowed to avoid the death penalty because he was crippled by someone trying to stop him from killing even more innocent bystanders.
the coward is a criminal and probably a terrorist.
HANG HIM!

It's up to the justice system to decide. The fact that he is now paralyzed because of his own actions is kind of irrelevant.

Death penalty should go on, but not by lethal injection. it should be something either very slow, like poisoning or starvation or something violent, like a bomb tossed at him. But he certainly does not need to live.
