  • Did John Boehner tell you not to gloat when Obamacare was struck down?

He should have also told you not to whine like babies when it was upheld.

  • How about MY jobs plan?

    1. Repeal NAFTA.

    2. Institute a tax on all corporations who import goods or export services rather than manufacture here or hire here at home. (hint: you can't name a single major corporation who hasn't shipped the majority of their jobs overseas.)

    3. Profit.

I don't think Protectionism is a dirty word. The rest of the world does it.

  • Republicans: Rand Paul proposed a solution to the budget. Do you support?

He suggested that we implement the Clinton budget adjusted for inflation. I would also say we implement the Clinton taxes, but he didn't go that far. He stated that this would balance the budget.

    Approve?

  • Why is it ok for Republicans to RAM legislation down the people's throats, but not Democrats?

Take Wisconsin. Republican talking heads say this is just how to get things done.

Last year, they said Democrats were ramming healthcare down our throats?

So which is it? Or is it only ok when Republicans do it?

  • Why do Republicans think that CEO employment contracts are valid, but public employee contracts are not?

When the banks failed, Republicans said that bank CEO's employment contracts couldn't be re-written to deny them bonuses and that a contract is a contract is a contract and the government can't just rewrite them at will.

Now they complain that teacher's contracts should be voided and re-negotiated because they aren't fair.

  • Please help me find this movie...?

Sci-fi movie I saw when i was younger. I remember bits and pieces -

It seemed like there were two stories - the first was a mission into space to trigger a massive solar flare early so that it would miss the earth. there was a woman clone on the ship who at one point, is rendered unconscious by a genetically programmed trigger. She eventually steals the craft with the explosives and flies it into the sun to save the captain.

On earth, very post apocalyptic. The son (of the captain of the space mission I believe) is hunted by a corporation. He fleas and runs in with a guy and at one point they get an automated supply train to stop by standing on the tracks. Oh, and the kid knows latin.

    Thanks!

  • About the mosque at ground zero...?

How many of the 70% of Americans who oppose this mosque feel as I do, that they are disgusted that such a thing would even be considered, but realize that it is illegal and unconstitutional for the government to do a thing about it.

I mean, this guy is practically my hero:

    http://www.jihadwatch.org/2010/06/pat-condell-on-g...

How many of you feel like I do that the only response to this mosque lies with the people? Stop the money, disgrace any contractor who even THINKS about working on this job, stand outside and let them know how sick they are, each and every day. Make it impossible to run the place and keep it up until they leave.

  • How's this for a solution to the Arizona Illegal Immigration Law?

Concerned that the new law will lead to racial profiling? Think that "reasonable suspicion" is too vague?

Here is my proposal. Instruct police to check to make sure EVERYONE that is involved in any sort of investigation is a US citizen. Everyone - doesn't matter if it is a traffic ticket or a felony. If the police have grounds to check you out, they have to check your citizenship status.

Do you see any problems with this?

  • About South Park and Muslims and the War on Terror...?

So Comedy Central deems it "permissible" to wage comedic war against Christians, Jews, Sociologists, Mormons... but when it comes to Muslims, they draw the line.

    Disgusting. Have the terrorists won?

  • Global Warming Deniers: How hot would it have to get before you will change your mind?

Is there a point at which you will reconsider? Say the thermometer reads 101 this summer.

How about 102? 105? 110? at 110 degrees would you reconsider? If not, how hot would it have to get? You don't have to agree that it is caused by man, just admit that the earth is warming.

As an aside, there are 20 cities with record breaking temperatures forecasted for today. Tomorrow, we are supposed to hit the 90 degree mark in Philadelphia. In April. the 7th.

  • Hey cons, how can I get some of that global cooling?

So much moisture in the air that there are record floods in the Northeast causing hundreds of millions of dollars in damage.

The southwest is experiencing temperatures 10-25 degrees higher than normal.

How about some of that global cooling? How can I get some?

  • Is the Government trying to take over EVERYTHING?!?!?!?

First, they put speed limit signs on our roads. Then, TOLL BOOTHS - which are just a hidden tax/IRS agents. Then they tell me I can't drink and drive!

Telling me that the food I eat and the drugs I take have to be up to a certain STANDARD - doesn't that sound a bit COMMUNIST? Hmmm?? HMM???

Now they are regulating the insurance industry. We all know (because Glen Beck told me so) that so called REGULATION is just a cover for complete government takeover, I mean, it is soooo obvious. The federal government now owns my local hospital and has fired all of the doctors and replaced them with 60500 IRS agents.

What will they try next? Telling ex-cons that they can't own guns??!?

  • 2018 Tax on "Cadillac" plans...?

Does this apply only if the employer pays for 100% of the premium?

If the employee pays 20% does the tax still apply? What is owed in either case?

If the employer pays for 100% of the premium, is that counted as income for tax purposes?

This isn't an invitation for comments - don't answer if you don't know.

  • Why are Republicans attacking a CEO's salary?

Last month when democrats were investigating the salary of Wall Street and bank executives, Republicans were up in arms.

  • Is it unpatriotic to admit that the United States is not the "best" at everything?

Falling further and further behind in education, science

China investing far more in renewable energy and clean water production

Falling behind in quality of healthcare and way behind the rest of the world in cost

Government now run by special interests and corporations

It goes on and on - jails, jobs, quality of life, life expectancy, crime...

If we don't admit that there is a problem, how can we find a solution?

  • Which political party is more likely to work with the other?

Are Republicans more likely to work with Democrats and work towards compromise?

Or are Democrats more willing to work with Republicans?

And which would you prefer? Compromise or absolutism?

  • Now that Ft Hood shtr Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan may be paralyzed for life, do you still support the death penalty?

The Fort Hood shooter - At first, I said that I hope he gets the needle, or worse.

But, if he is paralyzed for the rest of his life, I think that is a more fitting punishment. To have to live with the fact that he is never going to walk again and the constant reminder of what he did and all those people he murdered.

    What do you think.

  • For those in favor of tort reform I have a few questions...?

Do you support Caps on awards? What arbitrary level would you put the cap? Would it be the same in all cases? Consider:

    1. Johnny is the victim of medical negligence. He is a 60 year old janitor who makes 30K / year. Due to the nature of his injuries he will not be able to work ever again. His future medical expenses are estimated by an economist to be $400,000.

    2. Johnny is the victim of medical negligence. He is a 30 year old CEO who makes 150K / year. Due to the nature of his injuries he will not be able to work ever again. His future medical expenses are estimated by an economist to be $400,000.

    3. Johnny is the victim of medical negligence. He was a 30 year old janitor who made 30K / year. Due to the nature of his injuries he died. He was the main breadwinner for his family and now his wife and children have no way to support themselves.

    4. Johnny is the victim of medical negligence. He was a 30 year old CEO who made 150K / year. Due to the nature of his injuries he died. He was the main breadwinner for his family and now his wife and children have no way to support themselves.

Wouldn't an arbitrary cap on the awards only affect those who have suffered the most severe injuries?
