Why are Republicans attacking a CEO's salary?

Because that's what Republicans do. It's socialism if Democrats do it. IOKIYAR.

It's a charity, a non-profit. That's why they are questioning the $1 million salary of the CEO of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

And it is because there is a bill to donate $425 million in taxpayer money to the organization. The pay seems excessive for a charitable organization.

However, my larger issue is that there is no Constitutional authority for the federal government to be giving away taxpayer money to charitable organizations.

After all, the Father of the Constitution, James Madison, did say, "I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on the objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents." If one of the principle architects and authors of the Constitution finds no authority for charitable outlays, then it most certainly does not exist.

"The question is whether or not a very top-heavy organization might be siphoning off federal dollars that should be going to help kids,"

and you don't have a problem with this, wow, more good morals from the left. ALL of their money comes from the federal government, they don't earn their own money. Your comparing a one time bailout to a life long, tax paid, charity.

Republicans are QUESTIONING use of TAX FUNDING by a CHARITY that's supposed to be using the money for children's programs.

Democrats were EXCORIATING salaries earned PRIVATELY in fulfillment of voluntary contracts.

Of course YOU don't see a difference but sane Americans do.

Um, because it is a non-profit charity driven organization that gets grant money from the Federal government that is supposed to go to the kids. They want to know if some of that money is being siphoned off to pay huge salaries and cover unnecessary expenses..

At present their is a bill to retract set asides from corporations that is stalled and will either move or not and this is a safe bet for both parties, cynicism at its very best.

Everyone should be outraged when the CEO of a charity is making 1 million per year and had millions more in expenses. Even you can understand that.

It's an election year, they have to look concerned. In reality, the republicans are the ones who want to keep those executives rich.

Is this guy a democrat? Wait he helps provide a service to people. That's why he is on there radar, and for once they maybe right.
