You are considered a minor in all states. That means you would need consent in any of them to get it done by a professional person.

Ask your parents. Maybe make a deal with grades or something. They'll see it anyway. You can't take it out for the first month or so, and if you keep taking it out so they don't see it you'll end up with an infection or the hole closing up. It'll never heal properly and won't look good at all.

Also, anywhere who will pierce you at 16 without consent isn't a place you want to get pierced. Remember, piercing studios are responsible for autoclaving their instruments and only using single use needles. They're not regulated. You need to find a clean, responsible shop.

Im from canada, so i dont know stuff about piercings in the states. But the place i went to, to get my piercings done could care less about age, and weather or not i have permission - i was 16 when i got my first piercing done there. Im sure there would be some place around thats like that

Most places will pierce you at 16 if you have someone that's at least 18 years of age sign for you.

I got my nose piercing at 17 with my sisternlaw and I had no problem with that. && yeah, the place we went did have a good reputation.

You should go to a state where they threaten to jail anyone under 18 who has a lip pierced. Then wait until you're 18, and then if you still want to mutilate yourself, join the Marines. Then, after you leave the Marines you will have matured enough to no longer want to intentionally mutilate yourself.

I assume you're a girl; and you should ask any of your romantic interests if they find pierced lips attractive. And, if they do, get new romantic interests also.

BAD IDEA! my mom wouldn't let me get my nose pierced so i did it on my own and it got infected and she made me take it out and it closed up over the infection and now if you look closely theres like a spot on my nose and its weird. now i regret piercing it in the first place cause when i look back its pretty trashy. i bet youre very pretty, at least your avatar is, and im sure youre much prettier without any piercings!

Truthfully, you should really ask your parents because you will get in trouble if you don't. If they say no explain why you want one and should get one. Good luck
