Is it true that on Ebay a lot of folks bid on the stuff they place there themselves to drive up the price?

Is this just an internet rumor? I hear this all the time, that people place an item on Ebay them log in as another user to bid the item up in price. They do this or have a friend do it, so it can't be traced back to them. Has Ebay ever looked into this scam

This is called shilling and eBay is aware of the problem. If you suspect this is occurring, contact eBay with the listing number. You will have to complete a short form. If the seller is found to be involved in shilling, he/she may be removed from eBay. It is important that sellers and buyers keep the eBay community an honest and safe environment so everyone enjoys it.

I would not say Never - but I have bought alot of stuff (and sold a few things) and always had success - use sellers that have sold ALOT of the item - and you should not be disappointed..Happy Shopping
