Can you see nits when you brush them out with the comb?

I currently have a very mild case of head lice. I just wanted to know if you can physically see the nits when you brush them out. Maybe I just have dandruff if nits look a certain way. PLEASE HELP ME. I need to make sure I don't have nits otherwise I cannot return to school.

Thanks.

You won't usually see the nits themselves; it's possible, but they're pretty good hiders. However, the eggs look very different from dandruff. They're a little harder, more perfectly round in shape.

If you do have lice, make sure you use a lice shampoo to make sure you get rid of everything; that kills the eggs, too.
