Did you know that the ' going green ' movement has now brought about the production of bamboo coffins?

Yep, there's a story in my Sunday paper detailing the idea. Seems that they are biodegradable. Is it possible that we won't even be able to escape death without being ' bamboozled '...?!!!

Where are they getting the bamboo? If in china what about the panda? I thought their habitat was in decline.

I do not do any thing in order to be green. It's a scam. If its green its high priced.

Some people can be sold anything.

I'm going to be buried Jewish. A pine box, which is Kosher, and nothing else , no nails and the proper glue and paper lining that is Kosher. Simple and in the ground in 24 hours and no one is allowed to visit my resting place for 1 year. That's the way we do it too.

Ain't a big deal. Out behind the storage building I've got my own coffin built and waiting out of salvaged pine boards. The guy who owns the place has instructions to put it on a stack of wood I'm gradually cutting for the purpose and set fire to it.

Cheap way to exit the vehicle without making any tracks.

Its a whole lot cheaper and more green to use the biodegradeable one made from cardboard.

THis going green trend seems to make less and less sense.

If we wanted to take a 'green' initiative to make the Earth a healthier place, would we not just let the trees grow, and not cut them down to start with. Let alone cut down half Forrest's of bamboo just so they can be stuck in the ground some other way. How retarded.

I have always felt it was a waste of land to have cemetery's. George Carlin use to say in his routine that if people were really serious about the enviorment that they would just be thrown into a hole. No coffin. To me, when you pass your body is worthless. It is the equivalent to the car you came in. It may be nice but it's just transportation. Your essence is no longer in your body so what happens to it has no repercussions.

Cardboard;wood, what difference does it make, your going to be just as dead. Even the most expensive wooded coffin isn't going to preserve you, just a waste of wood

What's the difference your dead and your going to decay like it or not. Some people don't have the thousands of dollars to go the fancy route. When I die it just doesn't matter throw me in the back yard and whistle for the dog.. Death is overrated. Think about it. Believe me they aren't going to care what you do. That is if their honest about it.

Of course, they will be imported from China and not be made in our country. Call it "sustainable" or "green" or whatever, just another thing to put our workers out of business.

Doesn't surprise me at all. The "greenies" will do anything they can to push their agenda.... and, folks, I'm talking about the EXTREMISTS... not about those who simply care about their environment.

    Have a Seasoned day.
