Ive been saying, that without Gasol, this Lakers team reminds me a lot of the 2007 Lakers before they had Gasol and when they use to struggle against semi-mediocre teams and need Kobe to put up big numbers for them to win. The three games they lost Kobe had, 19, 19, 20. And in the wins he is putting up over 31ppg. When Gasol is in the lineup it changes everything and he is the perfect ingredient in the triangle offense. Without him they are very similar to that old Laker team that needs Kobe to play big to win and they are not a contender seriously when Gasol is out.
BQ: Badly, above information clears it up and also he adds that inside presence for the Lakers to play the inside out game and his passing helps.
BQ2: Kinda because I know there weakness is that they are not the same team without Gasol in, they are complacent, and they don't really dominate teams they should. With Gasol they are the best, but that is key and they have some mental weaknesses.
BQ3: They are shooting jumpers and they are going through slumps. Teams are harrassing Kobe and actually Kobe has seen some tough defenders in Afflalo and Ariza/ Battier. And they are closing out to Fisher for all shots and making him put it on the floor and take tough shots.

1. Lakers need gasol back, but he aint the problem...how is andrew bynum letting a 6 foot guard get a rebound? (brooks)
2. if I was the lakers, absolutely not. Rockets are always the underdog...if you know they lost to a sacramento team that had no identity, you know they're hungry to win
3. fisher has problems guarding brooks. brooks is a younger guard that will run a little bit from fisher. Kobe just had an off night, you wont see that a lot from him this year, he will be fine
suns record 9-2 will be eclipsed by LA, trust me. suns are a contender, but they won't be at the top of the food chain much longer, especially when gasol comes back
rockets just looked at redemption from that 102-103 loss, plain and simple. They are probably the most underrated team in the nba and regardless if they make playoffs this year or not, every win they can scrap will be hard earned and well deserved. Next year when yao comes back they will be fine. They just need to get a good big man in next year free agency at PF position, and they could be contenders idk
great win rockets!!!
tough loss lakers fans, but this loss didn't hurt trust me

Couple of thought here,
In the history of the league no team has gone 82-0 so with that being said each year teams are going to lose games. It just the way it is. What this tells me is that the Lakers will not match or beat the Bulls 72-10 record.
BQ1 They need Gasol but they need him healthy and not going down a month later. If Bynum goes down they they would really need Gasol.
BQ2 Why would you be worry, Like I said earlier, teams are going to lose. the best team in the history of the league lost games, the Celtics lost back to back games this past weekend. The season basically just started and I might be more concerned if our record was 3-7 instead of 7-3.
BQ3 Personally I think Kobe came out of the block ablaze and it might be coming back to hit him right now. I think Kobe and Fish was doing alot especially Kobe with all his shooting and I think it is all catching up to him. It is a long season and I think at his age he needs to pace himself instead of going for 40 every night.

Same thing happened to the Boston Celtics.
BQ - They need him... but that shouldn't be an excuse. What the Lakers need more is for role-players to step up more (Shannon Brown has been great so far).
BQ - No (7-3 isn't that bad considering 9-2 is the best record in the whole NBA)
BQ3 - Fatigue. Kobe is scoring 33 ppg and teams are doing everything they can to slow him down. He's only human. He's not getting enough help from the Laker bench.

Hey
I think LA fan should relax, it's not like end of the world right not since Lakers lost two game, beside Nets fan should be worried the way Nets started with 0-10 record.
I think LA should get used to it, this way they will do fine without Gasol. Just like Duncan and Parker out Spurs should get used to it while playing without them
Not a LA fan if I was I won't be.
It's the way they get ready for the game.
So what, relax. As a Spurs fan I knew since Suns playing they were good team and playoffs they dont win, so LA has advantage to beat Suns in playoffs.
Here is the example for Suns
Suns could win 60 games playing offense and not making into NBA final. Lakers on other hand will play defense and they will go to NBA final with less record what Suns did with their offense.
So rest LA fans should relax.
What does Rocket girl know, speaking of Rockets what did Rockets did so far. Because of LA and Spurs West is here. Who represent West most of the time in the NBA final, it was LA and Spurs. There were no Mavs, Rockets, Hornets, or any other team.
I am not watching sports for long time, I just see little bit, then I see who won or lost on the dish thing.

Two things bother me about me about this loss. First off, with Fisher getting torched by Brooks why doesn't Phil bring in Farmar or Brown who are both quicker and can stay with Brooks? Second, when you have a mismatch on the low post, why do the Lakers forget who Bynum is and what's he capable of? Unreal. I give Houston credit they played great defense and the Lakers deserved to lose. I hope this is a wake up call for the boys.
They played good defense on Kobe, and he just missed wide open shots. No, not worried and yes they need Gasol.

BQ1: It is Gasol rather than Odom as the co-ordinator of Lakers striking the balance on both ends.
BQ2: Fortunately it is still early in the season for Lakers to get more prepared on sans-Gasol scenarios - and an eventually bigger problem is the lack of depth in backcourt is fully exposing. It is the time to strike a trade.
BQ3: Kobe always takes much more contested shots should his mates are off (Odom and Artest have more dormant nights than expected), and if you throw in a player tangling with him for every step, Kobe will have a higher tendency to rush his finish and it usually results as more missed shots.
While Fisher is now a spot-up shooter in the perimeter, teams have better knowledge to read his positioning and Fisher will find it more difficult to take easy shots.

Don't worry. The Rockets are beasts. They will beat a lot more over rated teams this year.
BQ: Gasol is a beast though. They need him a lot.
BQ2: Nope. They are the Champs for a reason. They should drop Artest though. I didnt think that would work from the start.
BQ3: Shane and Trevor had Kobe on lock. They do that to a lot of people though. He'll do better when they play a less good team. Fisher is just washed up. His time is ticking away! tick tick tick

Lakers need Gasol back to compete with the top teams in the league. Losing to the Nuggets & Rockets in Nov / Dec is no reason to panic. It's a long regular season and the Lakers will be in top form and will be the top seed come playoff time.

Gasol is making pogress and the lakers do need him..
lakers cant rely on odom he can only give them 8 points a night..
theirs no need to worry the season is still young, its only been 10 games.
theirs nothing wrong with kobe and fish. Derek just needs to shoot the ball harder
