It's all wrong I know, and some people seem to be only too happy to support foreigners over their own population, usually rich people that nothing seems to bother them, OR left wing commie / agitator types that don't give a damn the way their own country is heading.

Many employers 'prefer' to employ foreigners simply because they can pay rates even lower than minimum wage to them by colourful / creative accounting. Gang masters are well known for doing this.... it looks like minimum wage on paper - to make it all look legal like, then they dock off food and accommodation charges when they put about 10 foreign workers in a flat and feed them dog food.

Another reason employers prefer foreigners, is that many firms are only geared up for short term contracts. The foreigners are only temps, and snap the jobs up that the 'job centres' push to the foreigners 1st - and NOT the British workers. Contract ends, and on they go to the next temping job and so on.

There is also the 'EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES' laws that ties employers up in knots too, where employers MUST take on a certain quota of foreign labour. Questions are asked if an employer doesn't have EU members on it's workforce, or Black or Asian, or pink or little green men...... but nothing is ever said about not having enough British people on the team.

It's no wonder that many Brits can't even get a look in on the jobs market. It's all stacked up against us UNFAIRLY.

If everyone refused to work for the minimum wage then employers would have to pay a salary that people could actually live on.

By immigrants being brought in, they complete the work at Minimum wage, thus reducing the wage bill. This in turn increases profit for Business which in turn gives a boom to the economy..

It's not that British people won't work for the minimum wage, it's that there are certain jobs that many, even many of the unemployed, see it beneath themselves to do - like picking fruit, collecting rubbish, cleaning streets, etc. And often, businesses will employ an immigrant not because they are cheaper (the minimum wage is the same for everyone, after all) but because they tend to be more skilled or willing to work more hours in the week.

Actually it is our fault that there are no houses and dentists and schools - we should have built more years ago, instead of thinking would sort itself out if we just sat by and watched. It's not like anyone thought the population wasn't going to rise, after all. And as for dentists, well, there would be a lot less of them if we didn't have immigration - my own dentist is the son of a Swiss immigrant.

Right, these days anyone without a job in desperation will work for minimum wage and in some challenging situations. The holidays are coming soon; people are willing; and sadly will be taken advantage by those without scruples.
