In Spanish, is "g" in "recogí" (preterite) pronounced as a hard "g" (like ganar) or soft "g" (like general)?

    like our H in english

    the rule is like in english to some extent: GO and GA, GUI hard sound like Googoo Gaga (lol)

    examples: Goliat (goliath), Garbanzo, Guía

    GI and GE is soft like our H

    examples: Girasol, Gel,

    No, the sound is like "hair" you should pronounce it recohí.

    There are two sound for "G". One of them is like "ganar" (like the G of "gain") and the other is like "general", but you have to pronounce it "henerál"

    When a word has a G followed by an U the sound is like with the word "ganar" and the U is not pronounced. Exemples: Sigue, guiso, guitarra, guerra.
