It is sacrilegious to have Tuna steaks other than with a salad.

If you add other cooked foods you take away that special taste that Tuna gives.

Apart, that is, from cold cooked potato or boiled eggs added to your salad.

Salad veg when thought out can give wonderful results, with an eye catching display.. It is easy, and you cant go wrong on the night. People do not experiment enough with salads and only serve them usually in the summer when the weather is warmer. They always stick to the same old things. Lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes etc.

Look on your supermarket shelf and see lots more foods that will go with the salad and remember its very healthy for you, so you also have an added bonus into the bargain.

Also remember that most people love salad, so you cant really upset anyone.

I like them simply pan fried in butter with lemon on the side for squeezing, served with simple steamed veg like broccoli, courgettes, mange-tous etc - whatever you have really. Finally, part cook some baby potatoes by boiling, steaming or microwaving, then finish them off in the pan you cooked the fish in with a little extra butter if needed and maybe some crushed garlic added in the last minute. Yummy!

Remember not to over cook them though, tuna steaks can go very dry when cooked for too long.

tuna is great you can cook it so many ways and add any veg with it it totally depends on what you have in your fridge/pantry and what you like! i simple grill my steaks with a dash of salt pepper dried herbs and splash of soya sauce and serve with fresh chopped dill and boild new potatoes with garlic butter, mini corn (tiny corn on cobs), mange toute/fresh garden peas, or a mixed salad, on cold winter nights i serve my tuna with roasted vegetables (peppers, onions, parsnips, squash/sweet potatoe, tomatoes, caourgette.auberguine) sprinkled with mixed herbs black peppers, garlic and chilli.

I've done them with mashed potatoes and mange tout peas, as a posh, healthy version of fish & chips.

we like to marinate them in ginger, soy sauce, lime and sesame oil. And, then serve them with a package of oriental vegetables and jasmine rice.
