Is there any dangerous chemical that smells like poo? We can't find where it is coming from and it is awful.?

What can we do to clear it up and is it dangerous to breath? It is in an office corner. Tried moving stuff and can't see anything. It is dirty there with old magic markers, cleaning people never move anything. What could it be? Smells like dogie doo, but no dogie or cat could get in there. Is something dead? Is my boss burying the bodies in the basement? HELP.

Well, there's a reason things smell bad; it's a warning. If you've ever smelled an old, dried-up magic marker, they're pretty much odorless, so I doubt it could be that. And most of the things cleaning people don't move are too heavy and cumbersome to move during regular cleanings.

If you've ever smelled something dead and decaying, you would notice the smell immediately. It's not pleasant, but it doesn't smell like poo. Natural gas leaks smell like rotten eggs and most molds smell a lot like dirt. However, that doesn't discount that some smaller animal (rat, mouse, squirrel, etc.) might have crawled someplace to die, or found a safe place to take a poo without becoming prey.

Since you've moved things in that corner and found nothing, you have several other options to check: What was it that was moved?...could it be something like a mouse or rat crawled into it and died? Second, is there some access from the outside of your building, either underneath or between the building and roof, that some animal could access? (remember, it takes less than three fingers for a squirrel, about a quarter's width for a rat, and a cat (or snake) can get through any opening their head will fit.

My best guesses would be that (a) there could be a sewage, or septic tank leak nearby that might (possibly) be interconnected; (b) some small animal crawled someplace to die (in the walls, ventilation system, or crawlspace), (c) some small animal uses the space to relieve itself, (d) bat infestation, or...well, eliminating those, maybe a call to some law enforcement officer to investigate. After all, it's better to speak up and be proved wrong, than to say nothing and later found to be right!

If it's a gas leak, you should do something about it right away. Although natural gas and propane smell more like rotten eggs. The smell of a decomposing body would make you violently ill (not by any poison but just by how awful a smell it is).

It could also be a sewage backup or overflow or leak. Those can happen behind a wall.

If you have central air it can be a bird or a squirrel that got caught in the air vent and its decaying you might not smell it above because if your office has carpet the decaying smell is absorbed by the carpet if there's no carpet then sent the custodian to check the air ducts. If that isn't it then maybe there's a birds nest or rats nest in your wall and something is dead in there. if you think its none of theses and think its something else Just get a black light shut off the lights in your office and run the black light against the wall and floor, black light picks up bodily fluids blood urine or fecal matter. ha ha if you think your boss is burying bodies i suggest leaving your job that's creepy.

Mark her clothing with ketchup and tell her oh sorry pass domicile and alter, and characteristic a bathtub once you're at it. Or examine your shoe and say wow scent that did you step in some thing, they'd get the assumption, or no longer. Request workforce bathe room, and supply out the black spot to any in prefer.
