Is there any dangerous chemical that smells like poo? We can't find where it is coming from and it is awful.?

What can we do to clear it up and is it dangerous to breath? It is in an office corner. Tried moving stuff and can't see anything. It is dirty there with old magic markers, cleaning people never move anything. What could it be? Smells like dogie doo, but no dogie or cat could get in there. Is something dead? Is my boss burying the bodies in the basement? HELP.

Methane possibly. There is a sulfur based compound that is put into natural gas so that it smells. Both of those could be dangerous. combining ammonia and bleach also smells bad and can produce enough heat to ignite some flammable gasses. Put on a mask and air the room out. If the smell doesn't go away then move the stuff out of the way and clean it up. If it still doesn't go away then call someone with a detector. It could just be rat or mouse droppings too.
