Why is it that and elected official gets their pay for the rest of their lives?

Every other working person pays social security then when they are old enough they can draw a meager check, shouldn't this also apply to elected officials?

And why should they be able to vote them selves raises, the people can't vote them selves a raises.

Don't you think it's time for a change?

Lets all mail the Federal and local Governments a Tea bag to let them know we have had enough, just like our four fathers did at the Boston Tea party.

Just about everybody working for government gets better benefits than most people in the private sector. Doesn't matter if they're a senator or the guy who scoops up roadkill.
