remote starter question?

I have a 07 equinox with a factory remote starter, it would be nice to be able to start the engine and have the heater blower work or in hot weather the airconditioning function while running after remote start, however it seems not to be wired this way and these features only function after the key is inserted and turned to the on position. I can't understand what good the remote started is if these features will not work. Has anyone found away to rewire or change this on the factory installed remote starter?

Update:

Yes Zork, I had a grand prix with a aftermarket starter that ran everything also. Their must be some sort of a rewire that can be done.

You may have an issue with your mine is a factory start and it does turn the heater on or the a/c on when its needed.

If you have an automatic climate control a/c or heating system the vehicle temperature will automatically adjust according to the settings. My guess is you have a manual a/c system which means you have to turn the button yourself from low to high speeds to adjust temperature. If you want your vehicle to be cool after you remote start it, turn the a/c up high before you shut off the car and get out that way when you remote start it, the air will be cool. Same thing goes for the heat. If it's summer set the a/c before you get out, if it's winter set the heat or defrosters. Easy.

I agree with you. The GM factory remote is useless, except for starting. When I got my new car, I felt sorry my wife's didn't have a remote starter. I bought an aftermarket one for her and hers does everything. Puts the heat or air on, wherever you have left the settings. As far as I know, there is nothing you can do.
