When will Al Gore debate Lord Christopher Monckton over the warming scam?

Al Gore knows he would lose therefore he will not debate.

Monckton focuses on particular aspects of the science to win debates. When he debates scientists he focuses on aspects that aren't the speciality. Being scientists they are usually unwilling to discuss these aspects (as they leave that up to the experts). If he was honest he won't debate the speciality of the scientist with them ... but avoids this at all cost. In Australia he should debate Dr Karl. Dr Karl is a public scientists willing to debate and argue matters that fall outside the realm of his speciality. He is a well read person. Also to argue someone like Monckton (who is a good public speaker) you need to get a scientists with a personality (who is also a good public speaker) - Dr Karl would give him a good run for his money!

Anyone can say anything they like in an open debate; and style can win over substance.

I think the most sensible way of doing it would be to keep the debate written down. Allow experts in the field to do research and debate the results with each other, but before any research is allowed in it should be vetted by other scientists outside the research group to ensure that there are no mistakes in the analysis and that the conclusions are supported by the evidence.

Don't you think that sounds more sensible than a puppet show of a business consultant vs a politician?

He won't. He also won't debate the scientists who say he's full of crap (a majority of published climatologists). If he did people might realize he's full of it and stop giving him money.

One thing I have noticed is that supporters of global warming like to talk the talk about how global warming is settled science. But yet when people actually try to debate the science they run away. I was checking this web site to see the latest gossip about me (very poor taste on their part) when I noticed that one person, Brohem, tried to debate the actual technical details of atmospheric science. I am no expert as to who is right or not. But one thing that struck me is that they immediately tried to marginalize him and eventually they ran away from the debate.

Bear in mind that the fanboy of global warming (the one who tried to answer him) previously complained on this forum about people not wanted to discuss the science. The fanboy was all willing to "debate" people who were not experts in this subject, but when he met someone who was familiar with the technical aspects he refused to debate. Very typical.

Edit; Jim. While I take this subject seriously, I do not take this forum seriously. This forum is nothing but a way to kill some spare time.

There are two reasons it won't happen:

1. Al Gore feels the debate is over.

2. I can't think of one example where a proper debate (pre and post audience opinion change as a metric and refereed in a formal setting) was won by the AGW side. I remember two that were clearly won by the skeptic side but I can't find the references.

I think most believers know that any debate with the two sides both getting a fair chance to represent themselves would only serve to lower public opinion on AGW. If they thought it could increase public support, they would being falling over themselves to get started.

They can debate all they like, but neither one does any real science so it hardly matters.

Edit for jim z: Grow up and become part of the 21st century. There is nothing inherently racist about criticism of Obama and no member of the "left" said that it was. EDIT for Socialism Sucks: Because the Joker is essentially "whiteface" and the idea of making white people up in blackface or blacks up in whiteface is offensive to many, many people. So, no, the idea of Bush being portrayed as the Joker would be ok, as would portraying Obama in many different ways--I'm sure you could find an amusing depiction of him to use that would not play on racial stereotypes and still reflect your dislike for his policies.

I personally find it offensive to alter a photo of the President of the United States, no matter from which party, but those are just my own feelings and perhaps you aren't from the U.S. anyway.

Well as usual the political left does not desire open debate but as in Germany, Russia, China and Cuba want those with functioning minds to submit to the control of those who follow the wishes of their religious leaders. I now wonder if it will get seriously cold during this solar minimum soon enough to prevent the slave minds of the political left from seizing control as it appears is the intent of their leaders. David Rockefeller has to know that with the sun in a full minimum the world is cooling rapidly, but maybe he also knows it will take at least another 6 years before the world can cool sufficiently for it to be obvious to a noticeable majority that we are headed into some form of ice age either minor or major. But if they try and grab or seize control as it appears to be their intent it should be cold enough in 10 years to convince anybody but a silly liberal that the political left is the party of lies and distortions as it has been throughout all of history.

Al Gore, like most Warmers, fears open debate. He will never agree to open debate. he does not even allow the press in during his speeches.
