What's the best way to cook deer steaks (wild)?

A friend of mine gave me wild deer steaks.

Any tips on the best methods of cooking or marinades? I've done elk before, is it similar? Also, it gets dark here at about 4:00, so something aside from grilling would be preferable.

I agree with Eagle Eye except if steaks , venison should be broiled or grilled not baked. Venison is very lean so be careful not to dry out when cooking needs to be seared and lock in juices. Yes it is similar to elk but flavor will be based on diet and likely your deer is a white tail and if taken in an agricultural area has had the benefit of a very good cattle type diet.

marinated in red wine, onion, juniper berries ,salt and whole black pepper crushed , then cover and leave it the fridge for a few hours or overnight , the next day place it into a baking pan and bake it covered for 45 minutes at 350F or you you could put it on the grill if you want to BBQ.
